Poem written in 1992

OMG! Thanks to my brother Lynn I started hunting through my box of old shit from back in the day. I found many things that cracked me up but found this pertinent to here and now. It was a poem I wrote for a class assignment on May 4, 1992. Almost a year after my brother died. The May 4th is my hubbies B-day. It wasn't titled so anybody can give me suggestions. :) I was like 15 so give me a break if it is sucky. But I definitely had to share.

When the door bell rings

We must open the door

Whatever is waiting

Has rung the bell before

This time Death

Has stopped on the porch

Behind is a tunnel

At the end, a torch

Blinded by frustration

As death comes and goes

Why it picked your house

No one really knows

When the door is shut

And the locks all bolted

A stranger now gone

But the house-hold jolted.
